Does KRAIBURG TPE offer medical compliant materials with adhesion to PVC? 


KRAIBURG TPE offers different adhesion types as medical grade plastics. We have also developed a solution for the combination with PVC that can be processed in 2-component injection molding.  

Any plasticizer replacement from PVC to TPE and vice versa can affect the performance of the materials. We therefore generally recommend using grades with lower plasticizer content, which means higher hardnesses. If softer grades are required, we recommend adhesion tests, which we are happy to carry out for our customers.

Are THERMOLAST® M Compouds available as ISCC Plus?


Our products with ISCC PLUS certification can already be purchased or used under ISCC EU certified interfaces.

KRAIBURG TPE solutions with ISCC PLUS certification offer the advantage for customers and processors that so-called free testing is not required due to the “drop-in” solution. Customers receive a product that is chemically identical to their existing solutions. Our experts will be happy to advise you individually on your specific inquiries.

What restrictions does the Plastic Packaging Waste regulation (PPWR) impose on pharmaceutical packaging?


The new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) aims to improve the recyclability of packaging and promote the use of recycled materials. However, the research-intensive pharmaceutical industry has been declared an exception.

Primary packaging that comes into direct contact with medicinal products is initially exempt from the recyclability requirements and the minimum proportion of recycled plastic. This is intended to ensure security of supply.
