FAQ: UV- and weather-resistant TPEs with adhesion to polyamides
In our last web seminar, we presented our thermoplastic elastomers with adhesion to polyamides, which are unique on the market. These materials, which were specially developed for the automotive industry, are characterized by extremely good UV and weathering resistance as well as very good adhesion to polyamides.

Below is an overview of some of the questions asked about the special outdoor TPEs with adhesion to polyamides:
Does the improved flow property have a negative effect on cycle time (especially cooling time)?
No, the improved flow property of the UV/AD/PA series does not have a negative impact on cycle time. In fact, it turns out that the opposite is true: the improved flow properties of our UV/PA series lead to lower cycle times in addition to an optimized surface appearance of the parts. This is due to possible lower processing temperatures and faster injection speeds.
For which applications/markets besides automotive do you see potential for these materials?
Since the main added value of our new UV/AD/PA series is the combination of exceptional adhesion to nylons and excellent weathering resistance, especially under hot and dry conditions, we see the most interesting field of application besides automotive in the solar industry or other outdoor applications with extreme UV performance requirements.
To which TPE class do these materials belong?
According to ISO 18064, compounds of our UV/AD/PA series belong to TPS-SEBS
注目の商品
The UV/AD/PA series combines the property of cohesive adhesion to polyamides with exceptional UV and weathering stability, delivering absolute added value for outdoor applications.
