what is ISCC PLUS certification?

The International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS allows for sustainability claims at product level, with a focus on renewable raw materials (bio-based and/or recycled materials) and traceability across the supply chain. It also verifies that companies meet social and environmental standards.  

ISCC PLUS is the standardized system for applying the mass balance approach, allowing for a gradual increase of sustainable feedstocks as a drop-in solution. 

It is possible to mix renewable and fossil feedstock in the same production process. Step by step, fossil raw materials are replaced and the carbon footprint reduced. This ensures that the sustainable share remains traceable. After processing, the output materials are chemically identical.
