What is a Carbon footprint?
A carbon footprint is the amount of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) or CO2E emitted to the air by an organization, company, household, product, building, etc. International standards such as DIN EN ISO 14064 provide an international framework for organizations based on the GHG protocol. The upcoming DIN EN ISO 14067 standard defines the carbon footprint of a product as the sum of GHG emissions and removals in a product system, expressed as CO2E and based on a life-cycle assessment.
