What is Eco-design?

Eco-design is an approach to design products or processes with special consideration for the environmental impacts associated with a product during its whole lifecycle from acquisition of raw materials to end of life.

Eco-design seeks to improve the aesthetic and functional aspects of the product with due considerations to social and ethical needs. Expression such as design for environment, green engineering, and sustainable product design can be used alternatively.
